Like a Garden of Eden, the Rosental Valley lies imbedded in an idyllic, lovingly tended cultivated landscape, surrounded by deciduous forests, meadows and the peaks of the Karawanken mountains. In between, you will find water in its most beautiful form - from the cycle path it is easy to get to lakes Faaker See, Silbersee and Wörthersee. Directly on the cycle path you will find the reservoirs at Freistritz and Ferlach. Whilst cycling along the well-maintained paths, it is quite easy to totally forget about time.
Near to the water and always easy-going, the route leads through small villages, past pretty castles such as Wernberg, Ebenau, and Rosegg with its animal park. The proud Hollenburg Castle marks the end of the stage, the gunsmith town of Ferlach.
In the "landscape garden" of the Rosental Valley, the southern ambience meets a rich landscape of water and beauty. There are lots of special places at the water's edge for you to stop off, and maybe enjoy some of the area's excellent Alps-Adriatic cuisine.
